How to create an action shot appear cooler in photoshop.

Step 1: Get and open your two images that you want to combine together in photoshop. Make sure they are open in two separate projects so you don't have to worry about simple layering issues.

Step 2: Use the selection tool in photoshop to outline your subject that you are going to put into your other image. Once you are finished outlining your subject, click the mask button in the bottom right corner of photoshop. If there are any small details that weren't corrected by the mask you can use the eraser tool and clean it up. Then copy your now masked subject using either Command C or by dragging it into the other frame you have opened.

Step 3: Drop or paste the Image into your project image using Command V on the open image. Resize the subject to make it look realistic based upon the surrounding you are putting your subject in by using Command T and Shift so that it doesn't warp the image. Then flip the subject horizontally by right clicking on the subject and selecting flip horizontally. This is done so that the subject matches the shadows within the image and merges it making it appear more real than out of place.

Step 4: You are almost finished but the outline of your subject may have some leftover color from the previous picture that creates a bright lining around your subject. The best thing to do to blend your subject into the the image is to select the brush tool and then set your opacity to about 20% with the black on top of white colors selected. Then you'll lightly blend your outline into the the background. Once it is blended to your best desire you can export it into LightRoom where you can edit it efficiently. Then your DONE! Good Job!
